Arvid Johnson has been named dean of River Forest-based Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business.

Bruce Leon, president of Tandem HR in Oak Brook, has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award in the 2008 Midwest regional program.

Greg Taylor has been named torsional product manager for industrial manufacturer Lovejoy, Inc. of Downers Grove.

Kathryn Humecki, chair of The Professional Women’s Network of Park Forest and president of Kathryn Humecki and Associates, Ltd., in Olympia Fields, has been recognized at the Treasurer’s Office Smart Woman Smart Money conference with the Woman on the Rise award.

Kathy Melone has joined Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice in Geneva as development director, while the board of directors at FVVH has elected three new board members: William Arnold of American Electric Power River Operation; Kristen Johnson of Batavia Enterprises, Inc.; and Patricia Spiroff, marketing director, Niche Restaurant, LLC.
